A 61-year-old apprentice who goes the extra mile to support her colleagues and customers in the care home she works in has been acknowledged with a special award from Intraining during National Apprenticeship Week.
Halina Raczkiwicz received an Intraining National Apprenticeship Week Learner Award for her commitment to her Health and Social Care qualification with Bare Hall Residential Care Home, in Morecambe, in some cases doing extra shifts to boost her skills and knowledge.
Through the apprenticeship Halina now has a greater understanding of her employment rights and responsibilities and has gained knowledge of all aspects of health and social care including dementia, infection control, communication and data protection. She has also achieved an English Functional Skills qualification.
“Halina’s work is always of a very high standard and she now feels more competent and confident within her working environment. She is also is really keen to progress to the next level and take on more responsibilities which is a real testament to her dedication,” said Linda Scanlan, Halina’s Intraining Assessor, who nominated her for the award.
