Enthusiastic apprentices at leading energy provider npower Business Solutions have had their successes celebrated with special awards presented by Intraining.
The national employability skills and training provider visited npower Business Solutions' office in Oldbury to acknowledge the dedication of employees progressing their personal development through apprenticeship qualifications including management, sales, customer service and business administration.
“It is fantastic to be part of this event and recognise the tremendous achievements of our staff with the support of Intraining,” said Mick Marshall, Head of Mid-Market Service and Transformation for npower Business Solutions.
“Our people are our most important asset and the benefit of having highly skilled staff is huge. We are part of the most competitive and advanced commercial energy market in the world so having staff who are motivated, engaged and up to date with the skills they need to do their job and then retaining all that knowledge and expertise is crucial to the continued success of our business.”
Sixteen learners received awards at the event and 93 npower Business Solutuons staff have gained 123 qualifications with Intraining since 2012.
“We are absolutely delighted to support and acknowledge a major employer in npower Business Solutions that clearly understands the importance of staff development and progression and present these awards which showcase all the hard work and dedication of npower staff who have gained qualifications,” said Gerwyn House, Skills Director for Intraining.
“As the government prepares to introduce an apprenticeship levy as part of its commitment to creating three million new quality apprenticeships by 2020 it is really important that businesses take a proactive approach to staff training and development like npower Business Solutions have demonstrated to ensure they utilise the benefits of the scheme.”
One member of npower Business Solutions' staff to benefit from the support of Intraining’s assessor Karen Williamson is Lisa Mould. Lisa came to npower Business Solutions as a cleaner before joining the facilities team and with Karen’s help she gained a business administration qualification and is currently working towards a Team Leading qualification which have enabled her to progress into a new role in the customer relationship management (CRM) support team which helps to ensure npower Business Solutions meets the needs of its customers.
“The qualification has given me a lot of confidence and shown me that through gaining skills and experience I can move forward into new roles and responsibilities,” said Lisa.
