During National Apprenticeship Week last week, our skills tutor Karen Livsey visited the Luton and Dunstable Hospital over 3 days, speaking to over 150 people about potential apprenticeship opportunities.
"Having assessed in the Hospital for over 8 years now, it was a nice opportunity to catch up with the past learners and advise them of potential new opportunities. Also it was great to meet some of the new staff to the trust and to capture their interest in completing an apprenticeship".
We also received some feedback and testimonials from current apprentices, who shared their experiences so far:
"I would like to say a huge thank you to Karen, one of our assessors, for helping me to get through this course and for being patient with me. She never gave up teaching me and explained everything in my Maths and English [lessons]. She was always there if I had any queries.
- Rina Angosta, Senior Healthcare Support Worker
"My apprenticeship has provided me with the knowledge and skills to engage productively in my role. The learning methods used by the trainers has been informative but given in a fun and relaxed manner with ample time given for individual and group participation. The course is challenging but I know it will be worth it all in the end."
- Elizabeth Roberts, Senior Healthcare Support Worker
"This apprenticeship has improved my confidence in my job role as Theatre Support Worker. It helps me to build up my skills and knowledge. I thank my mentor for always pushing me to try my best. She's such a good inspiration and a wonderful mentor. I feel grateful for having such a wonderful teacher."
- Mary Ann Monoghan, Senior Healthcare Support Worker
